Valerie Greeley
Valerie Greeley RMS, HS, BA (Hons) Born in Bury, Lancashire, Valerie studied art at Manchester School of Art and Design Manchester Metropolitan University where she gained a First Class BA Honours degree in textile design. She is internationally know as a decorative artist whose intricate and very detailed style of illustration has become a defining feature. Her artwork has been featured on many products, including ceramics, printed textiles, stationery and children’s books. Her original paintings and prints are in private and public collections around the world. Valerie is a full member of The Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers and The Hilliard Society and has won several awards for her miniatures, including The Elizabeth Meek Award, A Golden Memorial Bowl Mention and The Nicholas Hilliard Award. In 2018 she was Artist in Residence for Victoria Magazine (USA) which showcased her work in each edition throughout the year. Her inspiration comes from nature and in particular the flora and fauna found in the hedgerows and woodlands that surround her home in Cheshire, UK - Books illustrated include: A Book of Days, Down the Lane, The Acorn’s Story, White is the Moon, Little Grey Rabbit’s Country Book, A Year of Prayers, Christmas Memories.
